Hello, my name is Roxyanne C. Burrus and I am the Administrator of the Neighborhood Services Division for the City of Columbus. This division, which is the newest division created in the Development Department, houses programs that provide direct services, technical assistance and interaction with individuals, neighborhood and civic organizations, and other related neighborhood groups. This division was created as a result of the Columbus Covenant goal to engage and promote strong distinct and vibrant neighborhoods. We have brought together services that address neighborhoods and their needs, we take pride in improving the quality of life in Columbus’ neighborhoods by ensuring that these services are being provided responsibly and efficiently. The Mayor believes that Columbus’ neighborhoods are extremely important to the vibrancy of the city. His vision for the City of Columbus is to be the best city in the nation in which to live, work, and raise a family. To accomplish this vision, many neighborhood-focused initiatives and programs have been created through his administration. Three of the neighborhood related programs are implemented through the Neighborhood Services Division. They are the Neighborhood Liaison and Neighborhood Pride Programs and the establishment of the Neighborhood Pride Centers. In addition to the three programs discussed above the Neighborhood Services Division also implements programs in the Code Enforcement Unit, Historic Preservation Unit, Agency Services Unit, and the Ohio State University Graduate Intern Program.
