NSA Logo

The mission of the Neighborhood Safety Academy (NSA) is to create a partnership with citizens and the city to engage in resident driven solutions to improve neighborhood safety.  NSA’s promote community building, Neighborhood Pride and empowerment, the reduction of the perception of lawlessness, and opening dialogue between safety personnel and citizens to build trust and respect.

The Neighborhood Safety Academy is held on Tuesday during Pride week.

NSA

The NSA’s are managed by Neighborhood Pride and the Department of Public Safety.

The Neighborhood Safety Academy Features:

  • Classes from Division of Police’s Community Liaison Officers on how to empower citizens and keep themselves safe in every day situations.
  • Classes about Home Fire Safety from the Division of Fire
  • The Kids Academy offers Safety related programming for children age 5 and older.

The NSA Today is a publication distributed to those who attend the NSA, with specific information for each neighborhood.
